Non-members can visit The Vyne in Basingstoke, Hampshire, for free between March 7 and March 14, 2026. This offer is part of National Lottery Open Week and allows local families to explore the historic house and its grounds without paying the usual entry fee.

To get free access, visitors must show a valid National Lottery ticket, scratchcard, or an online game entry when they arrive. This saves adults the typical admission price of about £16.50, and the usual £8.30 cost for children is also removed during this nine-day period.

The site was originally built as a Tudor home between 1500 and 1520 for William Sandys, who served as a courtier to King Henry VIII. The event is a way to thank the public for their support, as the National Trust has received more than £150 million from lottery funding for essential repairs and conservation projects across the country since 1994.

Visitors can spend the day walking through the house, the large gardens, and the wetlands. This spring event is expected to bring more people to the estate and provides a chance for residents to see one of the most significant historic buildings in the local community.
