Two men have been charged following separate shoplifting incidents in Basingstoke, Hampshire, on 9 March 2026. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary brought the charges against Daniel Flower (35) and Shane Corbett (36).

In the first incident, the value of the items taken from M&S in Festival Place and the Co-Op on Kings Road was more than £440. In the second case, which was not connected to the first, the items stolen from M&S in Festival Place were worth more than £650. These thefts were on two separate occasions: 25th February and 2nd March.

These charges are part of the ongoing work by local officers to tackle theft and support businesses in the town. Police say they want to make sure the community is a safe place to shop and work by holding people accountable for stealing.

The local police force uses regular patrols and investigation work to help find and arrest people suspected of shoplifting. They share these updates to let residents know how they are responding to crime in the area and to discourage others from committing similar offences.
