Residents in Basingstoke, Hampshire, are preparing for a week of overcast and damp weather starting on Friday 6 March 2026. The Met Office has forecasted that the region will see frequent clouds and intermittent rain through to next Thursday, marking a shift to more unsettled conditions.

The heaviest rainfall is expected to arrive on Friday afternoon, where the chance of rain is between 80 and 90 per cent. While the following few days may remain largely dry, the sky is expected to stay mostly cloudy and dull throughout the weekend and into the start of the following week.

Conditions will become more unsettled as the week progresses, with further light rain and showers predicted for Wednesday and Thursday. Along with the damp conditions, wind speeds are set to pick up, making it feel more blustery for those spending time outdoors in the community.

Forecasts show that wind gusts could reach 30mph on Wednesday and increase to 36mph by Thursday 12 March 2026. These conditions may lead to minor travel delays and disruptions for local residents planning outdoor activities during the remainder of the working week.
