Broxtowe Borough Council has confirmed that the annual Beeston Christmas Lights Switch On will take place in Beeston, Nottinghamshire, on Saturday, 5 December 2026. This popular community event marks the official start of the festive season and is designed to bring families together while supporting local shops and traders.

The celebrations will be held in Beeston Square and are set to include a Christmas market, fairground rides, and a variety of food vendors. The evening typically features a firework display to entertain the crowds after the lights are turned on for the season.

Families can visit Santa’s Grotto at the Beeston Library, and local carols are often performed by the Redeemer Church during the festivities. The Mayor of Broxtowe is traditionally responsible for leading the official ceremony to turn on the town lights.

Council officials are encouraging those attending to use public transport to help manage traffic in the town centre. The Beeston Tram and Bus Interchange is located very close to the square, providing easy access for residents and visitors throughout the day.
