The Canal & River Trust has released updated visitor information for the Nottingham & Beeston Canal in Beeston, Nottinghamshire, to help residents plan their outdoor activities as of March 2026.
The refreshed digital guides offer new details on walking routes and fishing spots along the five-mile stretch of water. This section of the canal connects the Upper Trent at Beeston Lock to Meadow Lane Lock in Nottingham.
Beeston Lock is a central part of the update and is well known in the community for its weir and hydro-electric power station. The new content provides local people with accurate information about where they can access public facilities and recreational areas.
These updates are part of an effort by the charity to encourage safe use of the towpaths and waterways. By providing clear guidance, the organisation aims to help walkers, boaters, and anglers make the most of the canal while protecting the history of the local area.
