Broxtowe Borough Council has confirmed its full calendar of free cultural events for 2026, bringing a variety of community celebrations to Beeston, Nottinghamshire. The programme is designed to offer accessible entertainment for residents and includes large-scale outdoor gatherings that have previously attracted up to 7,500 people.
The popular Hemlock Happening is set to return to Bramcote Hills Park on Saturday 6 June 2026. Following this, the Beeston Summer Fete will take place on Saturday 4 July 2026, offering local families a day of free activities and entertainment.
The Hemlock Happening first began in 2002 to mark the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and has since become a yearly tradition in the local area. These events are part of a wider cultural plan by the council to support the local economy and improve community wellbeing through arts and heritage projects.
The council’s events team works alongside partners such as Stapleford Town Council to manage more than 100 activities each year. Other local sites, including the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum, also provide community programming to encourage residents to engage with the history of the borough.
