Residents in Beeston, Nottinghamshire, can expect a break from the recent heavy rain as the Met Office forecasts milder temperatures and sunnier spells for the start of 4 March 2026. The shift follows a particularly difficult winter where persistent cloud and heavy downpours affected much of the region, leading to saturated ground and rising river levels.

New statistics show that England saw 42 percent more rain than usual over the winter months, with February 2026 ranking as one of the dullest on record. This follows a period where the Nottinghamshire and Nottingham Local Resilience Forum had to declare a major incident because of high water levels on the River Trent earlier this season.

The local forecast for the coming week shows daytime temperatures reaching around 11 degrees Celsius, bringing a reprieve from the recent cold. There will be more opportunities for dry intervals and sunshine, giving households a chance to catch up on outdoor tasks or travel with less risk of weather-related disruption.

While the immediate threat from the river is easing and some official warnings have been removed, people are still encouraged to watch out for standing water. The Environment Agency suggests that residents continue to monitor local flood updates as the landscape remains vulnerable following the wet winter.
