Blackpool Man Jailed After Police Pursuit Ends In Crash

A Blackpool man has been remanded in prison following a police pursuit that ended in a crash on Ripon Road on 29 April 2026. According to Lancashire Constabulary, the incident in the residential area near the town centre led to multiple charges against the driver.

Mitchell Edwards, 32, of Belmont Avenue, faces a total of ten charges. These include three counts of driving whilst disqualified, three counts of driving without third-party insurance, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, police assault, and being found on enclosed premises. He is due to appear at Preston Crown Court on 12 June 2026.

A second man, Luke Oliver, 29, of Forest Gate, was also charged with being found on enclosed premises in connection with the incident. He is due to appear before Lancaster Magistrates Court on 29 May 2026.
