Police in Blackpool have completed a major day of action in the town centre to tackle anti-social behaviour and improve safety for residents and visitors. The operation saw the local neighbourhood policing team work alongside partners to address ongoing concerns regarding issues such as street drinking and disruptive behaviour.

During the initiative, authorities issued 19 warnings to individuals for breaching local rules that ban drinking in public spaces. In addition to these enforcement actions, officers made six arrests and served 10 formal warnings and three notices aimed at curbing persistent anti-social conduct. Three travel warrants were also issued as part of the effort to ensure the town centre remains a welcoming environment.

The operation is part of a broader, sustained approach involving collaboration between Blackpool Council, the Blackpool Town Centre BID, and specialist outreach teams. By combining traditional police enforcement with support services, the partnership aims to address the root causes of these community issues while helping vulnerable individuals access the help they need.

This work supports the goals set out in the Community Safety Plan 2026-2029, which focuses on long-term improvements to public safety. Recent data from Lancashire Constabulary shows that combined efforts between the police and the council have already contributed to a 5.5% decrease in anti-social behaviour rates across the town over the last year.
