Blackpool Neighbourhood Watch members in Lancashire are joining a national effort to tidy up local streets and parks from 13 March to 29 March 2026. This participation in the Great British Spring Clean aims to remove litter and discourage low-level anti-social behaviour to make the community feel safer.

Organisers from the Keep Britain Tidy charity are working with Enveco NW Environmental Services to coordinate the litter-picks. By taking a practical role in cleaning the town, the Neighbourhood Watch groups hope to show pride in their local areas.

The work is supported by Blackpool Council, which currently looks after seven parks that have won national awards for their high quality. To keep the town clean, the council reminds residents that anyone seen dropping litter and walking away will be given a fine of £150.

Diane Farley, a neighbourhood officer at Enveco, is the main contact for residents who want to volunteer for the cleaning events. People can also discuss local issues at the Police and Communities Together meeting for the Norbreck and Anchorsholme wards on 4 March 2026.
