Residents and visitors in Blackpool, Lancashire, can expect a sudden shift to wet and windy weather starting on Tuesday 24 March 2026. The change comes after a warm and settled period in mid-March, with heavy rain forecast for Tuesday and high coastal winds expected to last through Wednesday.

According to the Met Office, there is a 90 per cent chance of rain beginning at 6am on Tuesday. Wind gusts along the coast are expected to reach 41mph on Tuesday and increase to 46mph the following day.

Sea conditions will be hazardous on Tuesday with waves reaching 2.5 metres, which are classified as very large and powerful. The RNLI warns that these conditions can cause injuries and may change the beach landscape by creating new rip currents or damaging access paths.

On Wednesday, temperatures will stay around 8°C but the wind will make it feel as cold as -1°C for anyone outdoors. The Environment Agency currently has no flood alerts in place for the coastal area between Blackpool and Fleetwood.
