The Work This Way Jobs Fair is taking place today, 26 February 2026, at the Winter Gardens Conference Centre in Blackpool, Lancashire, to help residents find local work. Hosted by Chris Webb MP and Jobcentre Plus Lancashire, the event brings together more than 120 employers offering approximately 2,000 available roles.
There are job opportunities in several different sectors including health, engineering, and digital services. Major organisations attending the event include BAE Systems, the NHS, Northern Rail, Fox’s Biscuits, and the North West Ambulance Service.
The event is open to job centre customers with pre-booked slots between 9:30 AM and 12:00 PM, before opening to the general public from 12:00 PM until 3:30 PM. This allows everyone in the community a chance to meet hiring managers and support organisations in person.
Pat McFadden, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, will officially open the fair and launch a new mobile job centre service for the town. This new service is designed to bring employment help directly into local neighbourhoods to make it easier for people to access career support without having to travel.
Organisers are looking to build on the success of the 2025 fair, which resulted in 1,000 local residents finding work. This year’s event is supported by groups including Blackpool Tourism Ltd to help improve employment opportunities across the community.
