Crime reports in Bloxwich, West Midlands, increased during January 2026, according to the latest figures from the local police. Total reports rose to 236 incidents for the month, which is an increase from the 198 cases recorded in December 2025.
Violence and sexual offences were the most common issues reported to the West Midlands Police, with 88 recorded cases in the area. Shoplifting was the second most frequent crime, with 35 reports during the same period.
These figures come as data shows that the shoplifting rate in Walsall is 1.6 times higher than the national average. Despite the increase in local reports, police teams across the wider region made 346 arrests for burglary and vehicle-related crimes throughout January.
The start of the year also saw a change in leadership for the force. Acting Chief Constable Scott Green took over the role on 19 January 2026, following the retirement of the previous chief officer.
