Residents in Bloxwich, West Midlands, are being told to prepare for a sudden change in weather as a cold snap brings sleet and high winds to the area starting Tuesday 24 March 2026. This shift follows a mild start to the week and a warm spring weekend where temperatures reached the mid-to-high teens across the country.

According to the Met Office, heavy rain is expected on Tuesday with temperatures falling to 13-degrees Celsius. Wind gusts are forecast to reach 36mph as the weather becomes more unsettled throughout the afternoon and evening.

Wednesday 25 March 2026 is expected to be the coldest day, with temperatures reaching a high of only 7-degrees Celsius and an 80 per cent chance of sleet showers at 6am. Strong wind gusts of up to 41mph will make it feel as cold as -3-degrees Celsius for those heading outside during the morning hours.

Steve Willington, the Chief Forecaster at the Met Office, said that these colder spells and wintry showers are not unusual for this time of year. He explained that a north-westerly flow of air is responsible for the drop in temperature and the brisk winds affecting the region.

The cold conditions are expected to continue into Thursday 26 March 2026, with nighttime temperatures feeling like -4-degrees Celsius despite some sunny intervals. While the weather may eventually settle, local people are encouraged to be ready for the significant drop in temperature compared to the recent warm sunshine.
