Bolton College launched a new online Higher Education enquiry and registration portal on February 11, 2026, to help people in Bolton, Greater Manchester, find higher-education courses. The system allows residents to register interest in higher technical and university-level qualifications such as Civil Engineering, FdSc International Hospitality Management and HND Computing.

The new form on Bolton College’s Higher Education pages also covers Manufacturing Engineering and HNC Construction Management (HTQ). These courses are designed to help local people gain the skills they need for jobs in the area without having to move away.

Liam Sloan, Principal & CEO of Bolton College, said the goal is to help residents improve their career prospects. Bolton College is a partner of the University of Greater Manchester. This initiative is part of a plan to address local skills shortages in engineering and construction.

The move follows a wider strategy by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to promote technical training and aligns with recent regional developments such as the 2025 opening of the £40m Institute of Medical Sciences at the Royal Bolton Hospital. The new digital portal makes it easier for adult learners to contact course leads and start their applications directly.
