The Bolton Community Practice has launched a formal public consultation regarding the future of Ladybridge Surgery in Bolton, Greater Manchester. This process is designed to gather feedback from patients and local stakeholders about how the medical site will operate in the future.

The medical group is run as a community-led company, which is a type of social enterprise that encourages patients and staff to help develop their own local services. By taking part in this consultation, residents who use the Broadgate-based clinic can directly influence decisions about service delivery and how they access their doctor.

This review follows a period of change for the practice, which introduced a new system on 1 October 2025 where all appointment requests are reviewed by a medical team first. This method aims to make sure every patient is directed to the most appropriate healthcare professional for their specific needs.

The surgery has also dealt with building issues in the recent past, including an emergency closure in May 2024 caused by a major leak. While the clinic reopened after the damage was fixed, this new consultation will help the practice determine the best long-term strategy for the site.

Local residents are encouraged to share their views to ensure the surgery continues to meet the needs of the community. Feedback from the process will be used to help decide future opening arrangements and the level of care provided at the Ladybridge location.
