Bolton Wanderers will host Dutch top-flight side NAC Breda for a pre-season friendly at the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Saturday, 1 August 2026. The match, which kicks off at 3pm, forms a key part of the club’s preparations for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

Sporting Director Fergal Harkin described the upcoming match as a fantastic home fixture that will provide an ideal test for the squad managed by Steven Schumacher. The visiting team, currently competing in the Dutch Eredivisie, is managed by former Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion defender Carl Hoefkens. Their squad features experienced players including midfielder Lewis Holtby and striker André Ayew.

In addition to the home fixture, the club has organised a week-long training camp in Slovakia. This trip will conclude with a friendly against DAC 1904 Streda on Friday, 17 July 2026. Supporters wishing to travel to the Slovakia camp can book packages through Bolton-based company Destinology, with prices starting from £479 per person.

These matches are intended to help the squad prepare for the competitive season ahead. Following the pre-season schedule, Bolton Wanderers are set to begin their 2026/27 campaign with the first round of the Carabao Cup, held between 7 and 9 August, followed by the start of the league season on the weekend of 14 to 16 August.
