Residents in Bolton, Greater Manchester, can now access a new weekly fitness pass for £6.50 at the Sir Jason Kenny Centre. This new option allows for unlimited use of the gym, the 25-metre swimming pool, and exercise classes without any joining fees.

The offer is also available at other local sites including Farnworth Leisure Centre as part of a borough-wide effort to make staying healthy more affordable. This price works out to less than £1 per day for people who want to use the facilities without committing to a long-term contract.

The Bolton Community Leisure Trust currently looks after these centres, but its agreement ends on 26 March 2026. The Bolton Middlebrook Leisure Trust (trading as Active Bolton) will take over management on 1 April 2026 alongside a planned £3 million investment to improve equipment and buildings.

These changes follow recent council decisions to provide free leisure centre access to military veterans and to remove morning time limits for residents aged over 65. In 2024, local leisure facilities provided £5.29 million in community value through health and wellbeing programmes.
