Bootle Football Club has announced the departure of striker Joe Woolley as the team concludes its 2025-26 season. The forward leaves the club after making 63 appearances and scoring 10 goals during his time at the Berry Street Garage Stadium.

Woolley, who originally joined the side in March 2024, became a popular figure among supporters for his work rate and commitment. His contributions included scoring twice to help the team reach the playoff semi-final during his first season, where they were ultimately defeated by Prescot Cables.

The departure comes during a transition period for the club, known locally as The Bucks. Recently, club captain and goalkeeper Tony Thompson also left the team after making 119 appearances over two and a half seasons.

As of 12 May 2026, Bootle FC finished in sixth place in the Northern Premier League Division One West. The team concluded its season with a final match against Mossley on 21 April, which was a key match in the club’s push for a playoff spot.

The club is managed by Alan Morgan, who has been in the role since March 2025. The team competes at Step 4 of the English football league system and continues to host matches on Vesty Road in Bootle.
