Maghull Man Charged Following Vehicle Crime in Bootle

A 39-year-old man from Maghull has been charged following a series of vehicle crime incidents in Bootle, Merseyside. Richard Wiggins, of Eaton Road, faces charges for theft from a motor vehicle and attempted theft from a motor vehicle after police investigations into activity on Raleigh Street.

According to Merseyside Police, the first incident occurred on 7 April 2026, when an attempt was made to remove a wheel from a vehicle. A second incident took place at the same location on 4 May 2026, involving an attempt to steal a headlight from a vehicle. The suspect was arrested nearby following the second report.

During the course of the investigation, officers recovered several other suspected stolen vehicle parts. Work is currently ongoing regarding these recovered items.

Wiggins has been released on bail and is due to appear at South Sefton Magistrates Court on 30 June 2026.
