Man Arrested After High Speed Collision in Bootle

A man was arrested after driving on the wrong side of the road and crashing into two parked cars in Bootle, Merseyside, on Wednesday, 11 March 2026. Officers from Merseyside Police spotted the vehicle being driven dangerously on Hawthorne Road shortly before the crash occurred.

At approximately 10:40 pm, police observed a grey Volkswagen Touareg travelling at high speed and on the wrong side of the road. The driver failed to stop for officers and continued driving recklessly, posing a significant risk to the public.

The incident ended when the vehicle collided with two parked cars on Knowsley Road. Three people who were inside one of the parked vehicles sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital as a precaution. The driver was quickly taken into custody by the officers at the scene.

This arrest follows ongoing efforts by local police to address dangerous driving and improve safety for residents in Bootle. The collision caused significant concern for the local community and those living near the crash site.
