Families in Bootle can help their young children prepare for starting primary school this year by attending a new session at Bootle Library on Tuesday 26 May 2026. The Squish! Creative play for school readiness with Leila Chebbi event runs from 10:30am to 12pm and is designed for children aged 3 to 4 who are beginning school in September 2026.

The workshop is led by community artist Leila Chebbi and offers a gentle, sensory experience using creative play to help children get ready for their transition to the classroom. This session is part of the library’s ongoing Squish! early years programme, which focuses on art-making and play.

Space for the workshop is limited, and attendees are required to book their places in advance. Organisers note that there is a limit of three children per adult for the session.
