Residents in Bootle, Merseyside, should prepare for a change in the weather as strong winds and rain are forecast to arrive mid-week. According to the Met Office, the recent spell of sunny weather will be replaced by cloudier skies and wind gusts reaching up to 37mph on Tuesday, 24 March 2026.

The wind is expected to get even stronger on Wednesday, 25 March 2026, with gusts peaking at 40mph. There is also a much higher chance of rain, with the likelihood of showers jumping from less than 5% over the weekend to 40% by the middle of the week.

Local people are being encouraged to secure their property and stay updated on the changing conditions. Merseyside Prepared, the group that coordinates local emergency planning, suggests that residents remain weather-ready for unsettled conditions to ensure community safety.

The change in weather will also see daytime temperatures drop from highs of 16°C over the weekend to around 11°C by mid-week. This shift marks the end of the recent mild conditions and a return to more typical blustery weather for the area.
