Bournemouth Airport in Dorset is looking for new people to join its ground handling team as it prepares for the busy 2026 summer season.

The airport posted several vacancies on 20 March 2026, including roles for ramp agents who will earn £13.31 per hour. These staff members are responsible for loading and unloading passenger luggage and cargo, as well as helping travellers who need to use wheelchairs.

This hiring push follows a record-breaking year in 2025, when more than one million passengers used the airport between April and October. To handle the growth, a £50 million investment project has already delivered a new arrivals hall and is continuing to fund more car parking spaces and new baggage facilities.

Flight numbers are expected to stay high as Ryanair offers 20 routes this year, though Jet2.com recently announced it would withdraw five planned services for the 2026 season. The airport is run by Regional & City Airports, which partnered with investment company ICG in August 2025 to support long-term expansion.

Managing director Steve Gill has advised anyone interested in the jobs to apply through the official careers portal. The airport has also reminded candidates that they will never be asked to pay upfront fees to get a job, other than the cost of a standard criminal record check.
