The eighth annual Bournemouth Bus Rally rolls into King’s Park on Sunday 5 July, bringing a free day of vintage and modern vehicle displays, heritage rides, and family entertainment. Organised by Devon Yellow Buses and its volunteers, the event opens to the public at 10am and runs until 5pm, with exhibitors and traders gaining access from 8am.

More than 57 vehicles are expected, aiming to beat last year’s turnout, with preserved Yellow Buses and Corporation Transport vehicles on show alongside classic cars, coaches, and commercial vehicles. Free heritage bus services will shuttle visitors from Boscombe Bus Station and Bournemouth Rail Station to King’s Park every 15 to 30 minutes starting at 9:30am. Main sponsor Morebus has capped single fares at £3 or less for anyone travelling by bus to the rally.

The event has grown steadily since its 2017 debut, funded entirely by programme sales and trader fees, and run by unpaid volunteers. A large car park with 500 spaces is available at the park for those arriving by car. Stalls, souvenir programmes, memorabilia displays, and a giant bouncy castle and slide for children round out the day.

Looking ahead, the 2027 rally will mark 125 Years of Bournemouth Transport with a special edition mug priced at £10. For now, organisers hope clear skies and a strong turnout will make this year’s free celebration of local bus heritage the biggest yet.
