AFC Bournemouth fans are facing changes to their matchday experience for the 2026/27 season as the club adjusts its stadium redevelopment plans following the cancellation of a recent planning committee meeting by BCP Council.
The club has announced a revised construction programme for the Vitality Stadium in Kings Park after the council requested additional information regarding the planning application. As a result of these delays, the delivery of approximately 800 extra seats in the north-west and south-east corners will now happen shortly after the 2026/27 season begins, rather than in time for the opening fixtures.
These adjustments mean that season ticket holders with maximum priority points will not receive their usual guaranteed season tickets for the upcoming campaign. Instead, the club will offer these fans access to match-by-match tickets, with priority status set to be restored once the stadium capacity increases. In addition to these changes, season ticket prices across all areas of the stadium are set to rise by an average of £1.10 per game, representing a 3% increase.
Construction work at the site, which is being led by preconstruction partner Stadium Structures, will see the existing South Stand remain in use throughout the 2026/27 season. The new upper tier will be built behind this stand while the team continues to play at the venue, with work on the lower tier to begin after the season concludes. Approximately 600 season ticket holders have already been informed they must relocate their seats to make way for expanded hospitality facilities as part of the wider £50 million project.
The long-term goal of the redevelopment remains the expansion of the Vitality Stadium to hold between 20,000 and 20,500 spectators. The club, owned by Black Knight Football Club, aims to nearly double the current capacity of 11,286 seats by the 2027-28 season to meet growing demand.
