BCP Council will launch a new discount card this summer to help households in Bournemouth, Dorset, save money on local services. The BCP LIFE Residents Card is designed to provide savings for about 400,000 people living across the local community.
People who sign up for the card will get one free swim every month at council leisure centres and one hour of free parking at certain car parks when they pay for a session after 9:30am. There will also be lower prices for hot drinks at council-run cafés and savings on ice creams at kiosks along the seafront.
The card will be available as a physical card or in a digital format, with an administrative charge of between £5 and £10 for each person. The council cabinet approved a £193,000 budget to start the scheme in October 2025, with more details on how to sign up expected closer to the launch date.
This is the first time a single discount project has covered Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole since the towns merged into one authority in April 2019. The launch comes as the council manages a forecast financial gap of nearly £200 million for 2026/2027, following a 6.74 per cent increase in council tax.
