The North Bournemouth Crime Prevention Panel (NBCPP) launched a new Bournemouth Virtual Neighbourhood Watch page within its My Safer Bournemouth portal for residents in Bournemouth, Dorset, on 8 February 2026. The digital hub is designed to make it easier for people to report non-emergency crimes and local problems directly to the appropriate authorities and to stay updated on safety alerts in their area (in an emergency, residents should still call 999).

The new page is part of the My Safer Bournemouth website and links residents to the Bournemouth Virtual Neighbourhood Watch Facebook group. It provides clear guidance on how to report different issues — such as anti-social behaviour or environmental problems like fly-tipping — to Dorset Police and to Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP Council).

By using this online hub, people can find the correct reporting forms and portal pages for Dorset Police and BCP Council without having to search multiple sites. The project aims to help residents distinguish between police matters and council issues so the right agency deals with problems promptly.

The initiative is supported by Operation Relentless, a programme and community-funding stream run by the Office of the Dorset Police & Crime Commissioner that focuses on tackling anti-social behaviour. Residents who join the Bournemouth Virtual Neighbourhood Watch can also receive safety tips and local alerts — via the Facebook group and the Dorset Alert/community messaging systems — to help reduce crime in their streets.
