Residents in Bournemouth can look forward to an unseasonably warm and sunny week ahead, with the Met Office forecasting dry conditions and temperatures significantly higher than the typical April average.

Daytime temperatures are expected to climb throughout the week, peaking at 21°C on Wednesday, 8 April. While the long-term average maximum temperature for Bournemouth in April is usually around 13°C, this week will see conditions noticeably warmer, with Tuesday expected to reach 22°C in the wider region.

The weather is set to remain dry from Monday through Wednesday, with less than a 5 per cent chance of rain during this period. However, clear skies will lead to cooler nights, with temperatures dropping to 4°C by Thursday morning. This shift in overnight temperatures may bring a risk of frost in rural areas.

While the fine weather is ideal for outdoor activities, the Met Office has issued a warning that pollen levels will be very high throughout the week, which may affect those with allergies. Residents should also note that rain is expected to return from Thursday onwards and continue through the weekend.

The Environment Agency currently rates the flood risk for the next five days as very low for the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.
