Surrey Heath Borough Council is asking people in Camberley, Surrey, to report any antisocial behaviour they see in the town centre as it happens. This request follows a resurgence of reports regarding concerning activity in busy shopping and leisure areas leading up to February 19, 2026.

Council officials plan to use these reports to decide where to send extra security patrols and community safety officers. The town centre is currently covered by a Public Spaces Protection Order, which is a set of rules that helps authorities deal with problems like street begging, public drinking, and drug-related antisocial behaviour.

Council leader Cllr Shaun Macdonald has made town safety a priority as part of the Camberley – Set to Inspire project. This work aims to improve the local area, including the London Road block, before the county moves to a new unitary council system following elections in May 2026, with the full transition completed in 2027.

The local government is working with Collectively Camberley and the police to manage these disturbances. By reporting incidents immediately, residents can help the council protect local shops and ensure the town centre remains a pleasant place for everyone to visit.
