Residents of Canvey Island can expect a dry and warming week ahead, according to the Met Office. Following a cloudy Friday, temperatures are forecast to steadily climb from 13°C to reach 18°C by Thursday, 16 April 2026.

The week will feature mostly sunny intervals and clear skies, with only a small chance of isolated light rain. While these conditions are warmer than the historical April average of 12°C for Essex, the area will experience some breezy conditions. Wind gusts are expected to reach up to 35mph on Saturday, before easing to a maximum of 16-18mph by the start of next week.

Those planning to spend time outdoors should be aware that pollen levels are forecast to be high throughout the week. The Met Office indicates that this is driven by high levels of birch pollen and moderate levels of ash pollen. Additionally, UV levels will be moderate, and the Met Office advises the use of sunscreen during the middle of the day.

This upcoming stretch of weather arrives after the UK saw record-breaking temperatures earlier in the month, with some areas reaching as high as 27°C. The current forecast for Canvey Island represents a return to milder spring conditions following that exceptionally warm start to April.
