Carlton Town FC launched its newest junior football team last weekend at the Bill Stokeld Stadium on Stoke Lane, Gedling, Nottinghamshire (NG4 2QS). The team’s first competitive match, held the weekend of January 24–25, 2026, was met with strong support from local parents and residents who came out to watch the debut.

Following the game, Carlton Town FC released a statement on January 27, 2026, noting that the feedback from the community has been “fantastic.”

Club Chairman Mick Garton said the expansion is intended to make the club more than just a place for adult matches on Saturday afternoons. By starting this junior side, the club aims to provide a clear pathway for young people to develop their skills and eventually play for the senior squad.

The club’s official website says its coaches are focused on helping children develop as footballers. The Carlton Town Juniors Facebook page has also been used to share news and community reaction. These new opportunities follow recent work under ‘Project Stadium 2025’ to upgrade the Bill Stokeld Stadium on Stoke Lane, enabling the club to host multiple youth fixtures simultaneously.
