The Garden Bar at Cheltenham Town Hall is bringing back its popular Open Mic Afternoons this year, offering residents a free opportunity to perform or enjoy live music in the heart of the community. These sessions are set to take place on 17 May, 21 June, 19 July, and 16 August 2026, running from 1pm to 4.30pm.

Organised by The Cheltenham Trust, which manages the venue on behalf of Cheltenham Borough Council, the events are open to singers, musicians, and first-time performers. To keep the sessions accessible, all equipment is provided on-site, including a PA system, microphones, a guitar, and a cajon. Participants are invited to simply turn up, sign up, and perform.

The Garden Bar, located in the town’s Imperial Gardens, serves as a hub for local talent. Beyond the open mic sessions, the trust is currently looking to book additional musicians to perform throughout the summer. Performers interested in getting involved can contact the organisers by emailing [email protected] with their details and a video or link to their performance.

The venue officially reopened for the season during the Easter bank holiday weekend in April. It continues its regular seasonal operations with daily hours that vary depending on the weather conditions.
