The Gloucestershire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses following the death of a woman who was involved in a collision in Cheltenham last month. The woman, who was in her 30s, passed away on Tuesday 7 April 2026 due to injuries she sustained in a collision while she was riding a bicycle and a bus driven by a man.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:50am on Monday 16 March 2026 on Prestbury Road, near the junction with Whaddon Road. Emergency services attended the scene, and the woman was initially taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. She was later transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where she remained until her death.

The driver of the bus was not physically injured, and there were no passengers on the vehicle at the time of the collision. The woman’s family is currently being supported by specially trained officers.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit are continuing their investigation into the incident. They are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward. Witnesses can contact the police while quoting incident number 51 of 16 March.
