Cheshunt FC won a dramatic football match 6-4 against Haringey Borough on January 20, 2026, at Coles Park (the CVS Van Hire Stadium), White Hart Lane, Tottenham. The local team, often known as the Ambers, secured their victory with a late surge of goals to move forward in a historic knockout competition.

Despite heavy rainfall, the game at Coles Park went ahead on Haringey’s 3G artificial pitch, which often allows matches to continue when grass surfaces would be waterlogged. Fans on social media described the ten-goal event as “one of the most entertaining games in years.”

The two sides were level at 4-4 as the match entered its final ten minutes, creating a tense atmosphere for a strong local turnout. Cheshunt manager Mel Gwinnett saw his players score twice in the closing stages to win the game and keep their cup run alive.

The match was a third-round tie in the London Senior Cup, a tournament that has been running for local clubs since 1882. The clubs are near neighbours along the A10: Cheshunt play in the Isthmian League, while Haringey Borough currently compete in the Spartan South Midlands League (Premier Division), and that proximity helped bring out many supporters from the surrounding community.
