The Borough of Broxbourne Council celebrated the achievements of local volunteers and businesses during its sixth annual awards ceremony in Hertfordshire on Thursday 5 March 2026. The event, held at The Spotlight in Hoddesdon, highlighted the work of eleven individuals and groups who have made a significant difference in the community over the past year.
Broadcaster Jeremy Nicholas hosted the evening, which is commonly known as the (BOB) Borough of Broxbourne Awards. The ceremony brought together residents to recognise contributions to the arts, education, and youth support within the local area.
Jack Ferris was named the winner of the Dame Marion Roe Young Citizen of the Year award. Mr Ferris was praised for his work coaching grassroots youth football teams and his role as a youth support worker for CHEXS, helping young people across the borough.
Other winners were chosen for their efforts in community development and for starting charities that support local people. These awards aim to shine a light on the unsung heroes whose work helps improve life for everyone in the community.
Several businesses supported the ceremony, including Love Hoddesdon, Fishpools, and SCC. Other organisations involved in the event included Pharmaron, Liberata, City and County Developments, Google, Danaher and Walsh, VolkerWessels UK, and B3 Living.
