Residents in Clacton-on-Sea are invited to visit the local police station on Saturday 30 May 2026, for an annual open day event designed to bring the community and emergency services together.

The free event will take place between 11am and 2pm at the station located on Beatrice Road. Organised by Essex Police in partnership with Tendring District Council, the day aims to give the public a closer look at local policing efforts.

Families can expect a variety of activities, including police-themed games for children, demonstrations from specialist teams, and the chance to view police vehicles and equipment up close. Representatives from various emergency services and charitable groups, many of which work alongside the Tendring Community Safety Partnership, will also be in attendance.

Visitors are encouraged to purchase refreshments during the event, as all proceeds will be donated to local charities. Organisers have noted that there is no parking available at the station or on Beatrice Road, but several public car parks are located within walking distance.

This event takes place amid a positive trend in local crime figures. According to data covering the 12 months leading up to February 2026, theft offences in the district dropped by 9 per cent, while the number of successfully solved cases increased by 62 per cent. These community engagement initiatives continue under the leadership of Chief Inspector Stuart Austin, the current Tendring District Commander.

This year marks the fourth time the station has held such a gathering, building on the success of similar events held in previous years.
