Coach operators heading to the 33rd Clacton Airshow now have dedicated drop-off and parking arrangements, with Tendring District Council publishing guidance for the August event. The skies above Clacton-on-Sea will roar to life on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 August, with Angle Field named as the designated coach drop-off point and Clacton Leisure Centre in Vista Road set aside for parking.

Coach drivers should follow an approved route into Wash Lane, turning right onto Freeland Road then right again onto Tower Road, before swinging left onto Marine Parade and continuing through the traffic lights onto Marine Parade East towards Angle Field. Road closures and temporary traffic measures will tighten access around the seafront throughout both days. Councillor Ivan Henderson, cabinet member for economic growth, regeneration and tourism, described the arrangements as essential for one of the region’s busiest events, adding: “With the Red Arrows returning and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in the programme and plenty more to enjoy on the ground, Clacton Airshow 2026 is shaping up to be another unforgettable celebration on the Essex Sunshine Coast.”

Visitors not arriving by coach can use a Park and Ride service run by KonectBuses from Clacton Shopping Village in Stephenson Road West, while the Clacton-on-Sea Rotary Club operates an official car park on West Road. Greater Anglia is laying on extra rail services for the weekend. The Thursday evening programme features the traditional Twilight Display, where illuminated aircraft combine with laser effects and pyrotechnics after dusk. Ground attractions include aircraft exhibitions, a mix of food and drink stalls, fairground rides and trade stands, all spread along the seafront.

The airshow, now in its 33rd year, bills itself as the largest aviation spectacle on the Essex coast. Last year’s edition was shortlisted for a National Outdoor Events Association regional award, and 2026 marks the Spitfire’s 90th anniversary with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight confirmed for both days. The event’s website lists a visitor information line on 01255 686633.
