Live music returns to Crawley High Street this evening as the High Street Summer Sounds series continues from 5pm to 8pm. Crawley Borough Council is hosting the free event, part of a 13-week programme running every Thursday until 10 September 2026.
Tonight’s performances follow the series launch on 18 June, which drew many hundreds of people to see The Cureheads headline alongside Brighton-based singer Stephen Murphy. Councillor Michael Jones, Leader of Crawley Borough Council, described the initiative as a significant investment in the town centre and its night-time economy. “These free events will help create a lively atmosphere, support local businesses, bars and restaurants and make Crawley a welcoming and entertaining place to visit throughout the summer,” he said.
The Thursday evening timeslot was chosen after local businesses reported that Thursdays had become quieter since the pandemic, while weekends already featured entertainment from town centre venues. The council’s Events team organised the programme and acquired a stage that is expected to become a lasting asset for future activities. Acts across the series include both local talent and national performers, with the second event on 25 June featuring Crawley-based singer Mia Ardinez, Brighton-born artist Gina Larner, and singer-songwriter Alex Francis.
The programme runs through mid-September and all events remain free to attend. The council has promoted the series through lamppost banners, posters, the Crawley Live magazine, and social media.
