Residents in Crawley, West Sussex, will face altered train journeys and longer travel times as major rail improvements continue through the first half of 2026. These updates are part of a wider plan to improve reliability for passengers travelling to London, Brighton, and Gatwick Airport.

Network Rail has confirmed dates for upcoming weekend closures to replace sections of track at Three Bridges, Tinsley Green Junction, and Copyhold Junction. Work is scheduled for March 21, 2026, and March 22, 2026, with further closures expected during early May 2026.

During these weekends, Gatwick Express services will be suspended and some Southern trains will be sent on different routes through Horsham and Littlehampton. Passengers are advised that these changes could add between 30 and 60 minutes to their normal travel times, and replacement buses will operate between Three Bridges and Brighton.

These rail changes coincide with the first phase of the Station Gateway regeneration project from Crawley Borough Council, which began at the local station in January 2026. To help people get around, local Metrobus services will accept rail tickets for travellers affected by the closures during these periods.
