Passengers travelling through Crawley, West Sussex, are facing major disruptions today, Sunday, 8 March 2026, as engineering work has closed several train lines. According to Southern Railway, all lines between Guildford and Earlswood are closed to allow for essential maintenance by Network Rail.

The closure affects services run by Southern Railway, Thameslink, and Great Western Railway throughout the day. Residents planning to use these services should expect significantly longer travel times and are encouraged to check live departures before starting their journey.

To help people get around, rail replacement buses are running between Purley and Redhill, Reigate, and Horley. Additional bus services are also operating between Redhill and Tonbridge to cover the suspended rail routes.

Travellers can also use their train tickets on the Metrobus route 100 at no extra cost during the disruption. Officials suggest that replacement buses will likely be busier than usual and that passengers should allow plenty of extra time for their journeys.
