A section of Worth Road in Pound Hill, West Sussex, will be closed for 11 days starting 30 March 2026 while council workers lay a new road surface.

The work by West Sussex County Council Highways will cover the stretch between Worth Park Avenue and Balcombe Road. Crews will be on the street every day from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm until the project is finished on 9 April 2026.

The road will be completely closed to traffic while the work is being done to keep both the staff and drivers safe. Signs will be placed around the area to show people which alternative routes they can use while the road is shut.

This project is part of a larger plan by West Sussex County Council to improve local roads. The council is spending £40 million on 230 different road projects during the 2025/26 financial year, including 130 projects specifically for fixing and replacing worn-out surfaces.
