Families in Fleet, Hampshire, are being urged to submit their applications for school and college transport before the start of the 2026 academic year. Hampshire County Council has issued the reminder to ensure all travel arrangements are processed and ready for the new school term in September.

Parents of children attending mainstream primary and secondary schools must submit their requests by 31 May 2026. For students with special educational needs or disabilities and those in college or sixth form, the application deadline is 30 June 2026.

New rules starting in September 2026 mean that transport for students aged 16 to 18 will be limited to those who have special educational needs or disabilities and come from a low-income family. These students will also be required to make a financial contribution toward the service for the first time.

Families who already have transport for school-age children do not need to apply again unless their home address or school has changed. However, those using transport for older students are required by the council to submit a new application every year to remain eligible.
