The Hart Health Partnership in Fleet, Hampshire, issued an urgent safety notice on 26 February 2026 after fake medicine pens were discovered in the UK supply chain. The alert specifically concerns 15mg Mounjaro KwikPens, which are used to treat type 2 diabetes and help with weight management. Local residents are being urged to check their medication immediately to ensure they are not using a counterfeit product.
Health officials have identified that 15mg pens with the batch number D873576 are falsified and should not be used. These fake pens were sold through an online pharmacy based in Birmingham called The Private Pharmacy Clinic. While 15mg pens with this specific code are dangerous, the 7.5mg version of the same batch number is considered genuine if it was purchased from a regular, regulated pharmacy.
According to the MHRA, the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) has now restricted the clinic involved from selling any prescription-only medicines while a criminal investigation takes place. Injecting fake drugs carries significant health risks, as the pens may contain unknown substances or incorrect doses that could lead to hospitalisation. This action follows previous national concerns about counterfeit weight-loss products sold online.
Patients in the Fleet area who have purchased these pens are advised to stop using them and contact their doctor or a local pharmacy to arrange a safe replacement. Anyone who has used a pen from the affected batch and feels unwell should seek medical advice immediately. Further details on the affected products are available in the official safety notice regarding the falsified pens.
