Darren McGrath has been appointed as the new Chairman of Fleet Town FC in Hampshire, taking over the leadership of one of the area’s largest football organisations. His appointment became official on 8 May 2026, marking a transition for the club as it moves into what officials call an exciting new chapter.

McGrath has been a long-term volunteer at the club, first joining as a youth coach for the Fleet Town Colts Leopards in 2014 before serving three seasons as the Colts Chairman. He had held the position of Vice Chairman since 2019. He replaces outgoing Chairperson Caroline Bone, who announced her decision to step down on 5 March 2026 after serving for six seasons.

Reflecting on his new role, McGrath said it is a real honour to lead the club. He noted that the organisation has significant potential and remains a valued part of the local community. He acknowledged there is hard work ahead but expressed enthusiasm for the team’s future prospects.

The club currently supports over 600 members across more than 50 teams, ranging from senior players to grassroots youth squads. The teams compete at Step 5 of the non-league football pyramid in the Combined Counties League Premier Division South. Home matches are held at the Easy As HGV Stadium on Crookham Road, where the club recently secured a long-term lease to ensure its future at the site.
