The Hart Foodbank has issued an urgent appeal for specific item donations in Fleet, Hampshire, as the organisation continues to support residents facing financial hardship. On 21 April 2026, the foodbank updated its list of items currently in short supply, asking members of the public to help by donating sponge puddings, small jars of coffee, flavoured packet rice, long-life milk, washing detergents, and tissues.

Public donations remain vital to the local service, with The Trussell Trust noting that over 90 percent of all food distributed by its network is provided by the public. While the foodbank has sufficient stocks of staples such as pasta, biscuits, water, sugar, and flour, these specific requested items are needed to maintain its current operations. Last year, the foodbank provided 3,531 three-day emergency food supplies to people in need.

Residents can drop off their contributions at more than 20 collection points located throughout the district. These include major retailers such as Waitrose in The Hart Centre, Sainsbury’s in Church Crookham and Fleet, Morrisons in Elvetham Heath, various Co-op stores, and several local churches.

In addition to providing emergency food, the organisation recently expanded its support services in April 2026 by launching a Christians Against Poverty Debt Help Centre at Fleet Baptist Church. The new centre offers free and confidential assistance, including debt management, budget creation, and face-to-face support for individuals struggling with their essential living costs.

National data highlights the ongoing demand for these services. During 2025, foodbanks in the national network provided more than 2.6 million emergency food parcels to people experiencing financial difficulty. This figure includes over 912,000 parcels provided for children, as 72 percent of people referred to foodbanks last year were unable to cover their essential living expenses.
