The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice covering Fleet, Hampshire, which remains in place until 10:00 AM on February 14, 2026, as slippery surfaces create hazardous travel conditions.

The risk of ice developed after a band of rain and sleet moved through the area on the evening of February 13, leaving surfaces wet before temperatures dropped below freezing overnight. Officials originally issued the warning at 10:22 AM on February 13 to help residents prepare for the sudden change in conditions.

While Hampshire County Council treats major routes such as the A3013 and A323, around 70 per cent of the local road network is left untreated. This means residential streets and pavements are likely to remain slippery for anyone walking, cycling, or driving this morning.

This is the second major ice alert for the area this month, following a similar warning on February 1, 2026, after the arrival of Storm Chandra. Local conditions are expected to improve later this morning as temperatures begin to rise above freezing.
