Hampshire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a local bike shop in Fleet that occurred during the early hours of Wednesday 1 April 2026.

Offenders used a van to force entry into Pedal Heaven on Fleet Road at approximately 1:30am. Once inside, they stole several high-value bicycles and loaded them into a second vehicle before leaving the scene. The business, which has operated in the town since 2012, is known for selling brands such as Specialized, Merida, Cube, and Pinarello.

Following the incident, police officers located an abandoned van on a driveway in Hearsey Gardens, Blackwater. Several high-value bikes were discovered inside the vehicle and have been recovered by the authorities.

Abe Hawken, a communications officer for the police, has asked anyone who was in the Fleet Road area during the early hours of 1 April to come forward with information. Residents who may have dashcam footage or CCTV that could assist the investigation are asked to contact the police on 101, quoting case reference 44260152240.

While this incident stands out, the Hart district generally experiences low crime levels. Statistics show that the overall crime rate in Fleet is 37% lower than the Hampshire average, with burglary offences in the area having decreased by 24% over the past three years.
