Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary (Hampshire Constabulary) is asking for help from the public following a crash involving a stolen car in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire. The collision happened in the early hours of 4 February 2026 on the A30/London Road, the main road linking Hartley Wintney with Fleet and Basingstoke.

Police say the car was left at the scene after it collided with roadside objects and the occupants fled on foot before officers arrived. Investigators believe the vehicle was stolen using a keyless-relay device, a method that allows thieves to start cars without the physical key.

Officers are urging anyone who was driving near the A30 or London Road at the time to check their dashcam recordings. Local messages on Hampshire Alert have asked residents to check footage, noting that even a small detail could help link this crash to recent vehicle thefts in the area.

While Hart District historically records low overall crime rates, local crime data and reporting indicate a recent increase in high-value vehicle thefts. Anyone with information about this collision or the people involved is asked to contact Hampshire Constabulary (call 101)
