New figures from January 2026 show that violence and sexual offences have become the most common types of crime reported in Fleet, Hampshire. There were 71 reports of these offences in just one month, according to data from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
Statistics provided by CrimeRate show that this total is much higher than the 2025 average of about 48 reports per month. Throughout 2025, there were 573 reports of violence and sexual offences in the town, which was a 21 per cent increase from the year before.
The Fleet Neighbourhood Policing Team, which is led by Sergeant Geoff Hill, also recorded 22 incidents of antisocial behaviour during January 2026. Shoplifting was the next most common issue with 15 reports, while there were 12 reports of other types of theft.
In December 2025, Inspector Lisa Eastlake introduced a dispersal order for the town centre to deal with rising problems with bad behaviour. This order gave officers the power to move people out of the area if they were causing a nuisance to local residents and shoppers.
